It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Jennie Jawhar, a bright soul who left us on October 31, 2022 in Grande Prairie, Alta., at the tender age of 26. Born in Halifax, she was the beloved daughter of Amine and Roula Jawhar, and her light came into the world on August 15, 1996.

Jennie, a free and beautiful-hearted young woman, adored her family and her friends, considering them the center of her universe. Her free spirit and infectious laugh remain etched in the memories of those who had the privilege of knowing her. We will always remember her sense of humor and her ability to put smiles on everyone’s faces.

Jennie stood out for her kindness, always willing to put the needs of others before her own. Those close to her will hold in their hearts her bravery to protect her loved ones, even willing to go toe-to-toe for them.

An animal lover, she did not hesitate to take in stray dogs and cats, demonstrating her love and care for all creatures. Jennie leaves a legacy of care and beauty in the way she cared for her furry friends.

Jennie is survived by her parents, Amine and Roula Jawhar; her brother, Toufic Jawhar; her sister, Judy Jawhar, and her brother-in-law, Chris Spleit; her grandmother, Fahda Saba; her aunt and uncle, Roueida and Mounzer Zakhour; her cousins, Omar and Cecil Zakhour, and Eddy Fallah; along with her nephews, Atticus and Cassius Spleit. Jennie was preceded in death by her aunt, Hilda Saba, and her aunt, Angel Fallah.

Jennie’s wonderful personality and her infectious laugh will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, dear Jennie.
